Last updated: April 2025
Welcome to Audeeo. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile applications and products (collectively, the “Services”). Your privacy matters to us. Please read this document carefully to understand our practices and your rights.
1. Related Definitions
Personal information: Refers to various information related to identified or identifiable natural persons recorded electronically or otherwise, excluding anonymized information.
Sensitive personal information: Refers to personal information that, once leaked or illegally used, may cause harm to personal dignity or property safety. This includes biometric data (e.g. voiceprint, facial features), precise location data, and children’s information under 14.
Anonymization: Technical processing making identification impossible, even after further analysis.
De-identification: Technical processing of personal information that ensures the subject cannot be identified without additional data.
2. How We Collect and Use Personal Information
We process personal information that you actively provide while using the service or that is generated as part of your interaction with our products/services. Our practices follow legal and transparent principles.
Information necessary for basic business functions: Required for product/service operation. Without it, you cannot use our services properly.
Information for optional business functions: Enhances your experience. You can refuse to provide this, and your basic service will not be affected.
We may launch new features and will update this policy accordingly. If additional personal data is required, we will seek your consent via app notifications, messages, or email. You can always reach out via the contact methods listed in Section 10.
User Registration and Login
When creating an account, we collect your phone number, email address, username, and password. To support after-sales service and firmware upgrades, we collect your device serial number, MAC address, and Android ID.
Audio Playback Function
We may collect playback history, favorites, and similar usage data to enhance user experience.
Product Display and Recommendations
We collect logs, clicks, and browsing activity to tailor content and provide optional advertisement services. These are clearly marked and may be declined or disabled.
Notifications
We may send emails, SMS, app messages, or push notifications for system or commercial purposes. You can opt out through the contact info in Section 10.
Improve Our Services
With your consent, we may send surveys or interview requests via third-party tools (e.g. Survey Monkey) to gather feedback.
Technical Information
We may collect data like IP address, operation records, and device info for analytics, debugging, and fraud prevention.
Audeeo App Permission Call Instructions
To support your use of specific features, the Audeeo app may request access to system permissions. If not granted, basic features will still function (unless that feature relies on it). Examples:
- Bluetooth (Android/iOS): For pairing Audeeo devices.
- Storage Access (Android): To store product images.
- Location (Android): To find nearby Bluetooth devices (Android 6+ requires it for BT scan).
- Call Status: To pause music during phone calls and resume afterward.
- App List (Android): Used by Firebase SDK for notifications.
- Clipboard: Used for shared EQ data via copied links.
Enabling permissions authorizes data collection and use for specific functions. Disabling them ends that authorization, though prior data use remains valid unless required otherwise by law.
Some data collection may proceed without consent under legal exceptions (see Section 4).
Legal Basis for Processing (EU/UK/GDPR)
If you’re in the EU, UK, or similar jurisdictions, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Consent: For marketing and optional features
- Contract: To fulfill service obligations
- Legal Obligation: For compliance with applicable laws
- Legitimate Interests: Analytics, service improvement, fraud prevention, unless outweighed by your rights
Your rights include: access, correction, deletion, data portability, objection to processing, and complaint filing with data authorities.
3. How We Use SDK Technology
To maintain stability and improve app features, we integrate trusted third-party SDKs. These SDKs may collect specific information, such as device IDs, for debugging and diagnostics.
Third-Party SDK Used
- SDK: Tencent Bugly
- Use: Log collection
- Data: Android ID, MAC address
We conduct security checks and limit SDK data usage under strict confidentiality terms aligned with this privacy policy.
